Prostate Testing
Healthcare Wellness services at employer groups:
- Rapid test for the semi-quantitative detection of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in whole blood, serum or plasma
- The prostate-specific antigen test is the most valuable tool available for the diagnosis of early prostate cancer
- The PSA level in the serum of healthy men is between 0,1ng/ml and 2,6ng/ml
- A PSA of 4ng/ml to 10ng/ml is considered to be in the “gray zone” and above 10ng/ml is highly indicative of cancer
Important: Patients with a PSA value between 4ng/ml and 10ng/ml should undergo further analysis of the prostate by means of a biopsy.
