HIV TESTING & COUNSELLING

Voluntary HIV Counselling & Testing (VCT) Programme

Conduction on-site VCT Process Flow at Employer Groups:

  • A one-on-one consultation is conducted on HIV/AIDS which includes:
    • the importance of knowing your status
    • what VCT is all about and,
    • treatment options (including anti-retroviral therapy) for people who test positive
  • Informed consent:
    • Individuals decide if they are ready to take the test or not
    • consent form needs to be signed by the individual before taking the test
  • Testing is done with the HIV 1/2/0 tri-line rapid test kit and results are available within 10 minutes
  • Post-test counselling is conducted after informing the individual of their test results
  • Necessary referrals for follow-ups will be made

Our involvement after on-site VCT:

  • Healthcare Wellness will assist employees in accessing a doctor (national access) to assist with diagnosis and management of the member who tested positive for HIV/AIDS
  • Healthcare Wellness will assist employees in registering on the HIV Programme with their medical scheme (if the individual is a member of a scheme)

All services rendered can be customised according to each client's specific requirements and all services are provided nationally, throughout South Africa.
